Selling Extras doesn't always mean charging online
Not every Extra needs the same flow. Some are paid online, some need confirmation first, others are settled directly on site. StayFast Boost helps the host manage all of this without turning it into a complex back-office.

Not every Extra has to be paid the same way.
A beach kit can be booked and paid for on site. A private transfer may need to be confirmed before being accepted. A special breakfast can be purchased online right away, when the property knows it can deliver without issues.
Every property works differently. Forcing a single flow risks complicating something that should stay simple: offering a useful service to the guest and organizing it well on the host side.
That's why StayFast Boost lets you handle Extras with more flexibility: online payment when convenient, on-site payment when it's more practical, an availability request when confirmation is needed before moving forward.
Simple Extras: the guest books, the property handles it
Some services don't require much advance organization.
For example:
- beach kit
- bottle in the room
- extra breakfast
- small romantic setup
- additional service handled directly by the property
In these cases the host may prefer to receive the request and handle payment at reception, at check-in, at check-out or with whatever method they already use.
StayFast doesn't have to turn into a cash register, a POS or an accounting system. It just needs to help the property receive the request, not lose it, see it in an orderly way and know what to prepare.
On the guest side, the message is clear: payment will be handled directly by the property. No ambiguity, no false promise of online payment.
When online payment is the better choice
For other Extras, online payment is a perfect fit.
If the property uses Stripe, the guest can pay right away. The order is recorded, the payment is verified, the guest gets confirmation and the host finds the Extra in the operational area to handle.
It's the ideal case for ready-to-go services with a defined price and clear availability.
The benefit is obvious: fewer messages, fewer manual steps, more immediacy.
But not every host wants to start with online payments right away. And not every Extra is suited to immediate payment.

Request before payment: when availability needs to be confirmed
Some Extras depend on date, time or real availability.
For example:
- transfers
- massages
- tours
- experiences with external partners
- private chef
- services that require organization
Charging upfront here can be risky. If the property can't confirm the service, you then have to handle explanations, refunds or alternatives.
With StayFast Boost the flow can be more natural:
- the guest sends a request
- the property checks availability
- the host approves or declines
- only when applicable, the guest completes the online payment
- or payment is handled directly on site
This makes the process more professional without making it heavy.
On-site payment doesn't mean disorder
Many properties still work with direct payments, agreements at reception or external methods.
The point isn't to force everyone into online payment. The point is to make sure requests don't get lost between messages, sticky notes, emails and memory.
With StayFast, even when payment happens outside the platform, the host can see the Extra in operational management: what was requested, by whom, for when, with which status.
The difference is this: the payment is still handled by the property, but the organization isn't improvised.
Clarity for the guest too
After requesting or booking an Extra, the guest needs to know where to look.
They shouldn't have to wonder:
- Should I write to the property?
- Where do I see if it's been confirmed?
- Have I already paid?
- Do I pay at reception?
That's why StayFast clearly distinguishes the cases:
- online payment completed
- request waiting for confirmation
- availability confirmed
- payment handled by the property
- request not available
- request cancelled before payment
The guest finds everything in one clear place, without having to reconstruct the conversation.
More flexibility, fewer headaches
The strength of a lightweight system isn't doing everything. It's doing well what really matters.
StayFast Boost doesn't want to become an inventory system, an accounting platform or a complex tool for suppliers. Its role is more concrete: helping the property offer Extras, receive requests, organize the work and give the guest a clear experience.
For some hosts, online payment will be the best solution.
For others, at least at the start, it will feel more natural to handle payment on site.
For certain services, availability needs to be confirmed first.
StayFast leaves room for all of these cases, without forcing the property to change the way it works overnight.
Conclusion
Selling Extras doesn't always mean charging online.
It means offering useful services at the right moment, making them easy to request and managing them without confusion.
Sometimes payment happens right away with Stripe. Sometimes it happens on site. Sometimes confirmation is needed first.
What matters is that guest and host always know what's going on.
That's exactly where StayFast Boost makes the difference: it turns Extras from a plain list of services into a light, clear and operational flow.
