From "I have nothing to sell" to a first Extra idea
Many hosts think they have no extra services to sell. In reality what's usually missing is just method, ideas and a draft ready to refine.

When talk turns to selling Extras during the stay, many hosts immediately think: "I'm not a hotel. I don't have a spa, a restaurant, a private transfer or special services."
It's a normal reaction. But it's also often a false start.
Because an Extra doesn't have to be something big, expensive or complicated. It can be a late check-out, a ready-made breakfast, a basket of local products, a kit for families travelling with kids, a small experience nearby, a partner deal, a service to confirm manually.
The problem isn't always "having no Extras". Much more often the problem is not having thought them through, organised them and presented them well yet.
An Extra doesn't start with payment. It starts with the idea.
Many tools start from the end: price, payment, checkout, fees. Important parts, of course. But for a small host or an independent property the first obstacle comes earlier: "What could I actually offer my guests?"
- A countryside B&B could offer a local tasting.
- A seaside vacation rental could offer a more comfortable check-out.
- A guesthouse could offer transfers, buggy rides, sunset experiences.
- An urban apartment could offer luggage storage or a welcome kit.
- A mountain property could offer firewood, snowshoes, early breakfast, picnics or late check-out.
Sometimes the Extra already exists in real life. What's missing is just a way to turn it into a clear offer.
The risk: a powerful form, but too full
Creating a well-designed Extra requires several decisions:
- what to call it;
- how to describe it;
- when to present it to the guest;
- whether to charge online or on-site;
- whether it needs confirmation;
- whether it can be purchased more than once;
- which image to use;
- which operational notes to leave for the team.
For hosts who already have clear ideas, a complete form is helpful. But for those starting from scratch it can feel heavy. Not because selling Extras is hard, but because you first have to think of them as a product.
And this is where StayFast can help.

Two ways to start better
The idea is simple: don't ask the host to invent everything alone. There are two useful paths.
The first is a library of Extra ideas, organised by category:
- arrival and mobility;
- food and welcome;
- experiences;
- comfort;
- special occasions;
- practical services.
The host can browse concrete examples, recognise something they already offer or get inspired by something they could offer.
The second is a guided path with AI, kept very essential: a few questions, a suggested draft, then full control to the owner.
Not an agent that publishes on its own. Not an AI that decides prices or invents partners. Just an assistant that helps turn an intuition into a first draft.
The draft stays a draft
This is the most important point. A suggested Extra must never automatically become a public offer. It has to stay editable.
The host must be able to change:
- title;
- description;
- image;
- payment method;
- manual confirmation;
- price;
- purchase policy;
- when it appears.
Technology helps with the starting point, but the property keeps the control. Because no one knows what a property can actually offer better than the host.
Even hosts who "don't sell services" can create value
Not every property has its own services to sell. And that's perfectly fine. Sometimes the value lies in better coordinating what already exists around them:
- a recommended restaurant;
- a local guide;
- an experience with a partner;
- an equipped beach;
- a tasting;
- an external transfer;
- an activity bookable on request.
In these cases the Extra doesn't even have to be an immediate online payment. It can be a request, a confirmation, an offer handled manually.
The point is that the guest finds it at the right moment, inside the stay, with a clear presentation.
Selling without feeling intrusive
A good Extra shouldn't feel like advertising. It should feel like a useful answer to a real need:
- want to arrive earlier?
- want to leave later?
- want a ready-made breakfast?
- want to experience something local?
- want to make the stay more comfortable?
- want to avoid scattered WhatsApp messages?
When the Extra is offered well, it doesn't interrupt the experience. It completes it.
StayFast Boost: from content to offer
With StayFast Boost, Extras aren't just a list of services. They're part of the guest experience:
- they can be connected to the moments of the stay;
- they can appear where they make most sense;
- they can enter an ordered flow of requests and confirmations;
- they can help the property deliver more value without complicating the work.
What's new isn't just "adding a button to sell". What's new is helping the host answer a more important question: "What could I propose to my guests that would actually improve the stay?"
Idea first. Selling second.
Many hosts don't need more complicated software. They need a simpler starting point.
A library of ideas. A guided path. An editable draft. A clear way to turn something they already do — or could do — into a presentable Extra.
Because selling Extras doesn't mean becoming aggressive. It means recognising that a stay isn't made only of a room or a house. It's made of moments, needs, small desires and opportunities.
And when these elements are organised well, the experience gets better for the guest and becomes more sustainable for the property too.
