Roadworks, closed streets, parking changes: why "temporary" info matters most to a guest

Most digital guest guides work well as long as nothing changes. Then real life kicks in: roadworks, a closed street, a different entrance, a broken lift. Temporary information is often what truly makes or breaks the arrival.

Most digital guest guides work well… as long as nothing changes.

Then real life kicks in.

A street gets closed for roadworks. The usual parking spot is unavailable. The entrance changes for a few days. The lift is out of service. The reception is temporarily moved. Or there is simply an early-morning noise that is better explained before arrival.

And that's exactly where it starts:

  • repetitive WhatsApp messages
  • guests lost in front of the property
  • last-minute phone calls
  • avoidable bad reviews

The problem with static information

Many properties still rely on:

  • PDFs sent weeks in advance
  • messages copied by hand
  • documents that are hard to update
  • guides that only work when "everything is normal"

But the real guest experience is not made only of permanent information. It is also made of exceptions, temporary changes, small surprises, and important notices the guest must see right away.

Temporary info matters more than permanent info

Paradoxically, guests usually adapt easily to check-in times, the Wi-Fi password, or the house rules.

What really causes stress is when:

  • they can't find the right entrance
  • the street is closed
  • the car has to be moved
  • the intercom doesn't work
  • the parking arrangement has changed
  • the usual access has been altered for a few days

It's temporary information. But it has a huge impact on the experience.

That's why StayFast has "Current conditions"

Inside the dedicated "Arrival & access" section, StayFast lets you display a priority temporary notice that the guest sees immediately.

For example:

Due to roadworks, the street is closed every morning from 6:30. Please move your car the night before.

Or:

This week, please use the side entrance next to the parking area.

The goal is not to fill the guide with text. The goal is to remove doubts, cut repetitive messages, prepare arrival better, and reduce real problems.

A good guest guide is not an elegant PDF

It's a living tool. It has to adapt quickly to local events, roadworks, operational changes, surprises, temporary situations.

And, above all, it has to let the host update everything in a few seconds, even from a phone.

Less chaos for the guest, less stress for the host

Most operational problems don't come from big mistakes. They come from small pieces of information missing or shared too late.

A notice seen at the right moment can prevent dozens of messages, confused guests, useless calls, and bad reviews.

This is exactly the kind of experience StayFast wants to improve: not just "nice-looking information", but smoother, less stressful stays for everyone.
