At 4.7 stars, reviews don't set you apart anymore. So what does?
When reviews are already strong, one extra decimal changes little. What sets you apart is how you accompany the stay and offer useful services at the right moment.

Picture a property with solid reviews, 4.7+ stars, good photos and decent occupancy. Everything works, and yet it's hard to stand out from others nearby with similar numbers.
When reviews are already strong, one more decimal changes little in how a guest perceives the place. Reviews reassure, but they don't always differentiate. What differentiates is what the guest feels before, during and at the end of the stay.
The review plateau
Past a certain threshold, reviews stop being a competitive advantage and become a trust requirement. They're the condition to be considered, not the reason to be chosen.
Faced with three options at similar scores, a guest compares photos, location, price, services and an overall feeling that's hard to measure. That's where the difference is decided.
After trust, experience takes over
Once a property is already perceived as reliable, the difference comes down to a few concrete elements:
- clear services, described without ambiguity;
- useful Extras, designed for that kind of guest;
- requests handled well, without confusing back-and-forth;
- ordered information, reachable at the right moment;
- small signs of care before arrival and during the stay.
No revolution required. Often it's enough to remove friction and add attention.

Extras aren't "aggressive selling"
An Extra works when it arrives at the right moment of the stay, not when it's pushed cold. A few examples:
- a transfer offered before arrival, while the guest is still organising the trip;
- breakfast or a small experience offered during the stay;
- a late checkout near departure, when the guest realises they'd like more time;
- a special package for anniversaries, birthdays or specific occasions.
The point isn't to sell more at random. It's to propose better what can genuinely improve the stay.
Why many hosts don't do this
It's not a shortage of ideas. The ideas are usually there. What holds people back is perceived complexity: messages scattered across channels, payments handled by hand, requests that get lost, promises hard to keep in the busiest week of the year.
This is where StayFast can come in as a tool for order, not as a heavy management system.
Which Extras to start with
A cautious progression, one Extra at a time, tends to work best:
- late checkout, because it lands at a clear moment of the stay;
- transfer, especially valuable in less-served areas;
- breakfast or a simple service that's easy to deliver;
- a small local experience, if the property already has reliable partners;
- a package for special occasions, communicated honestly.
Don't add everything at once. Better a few reliable Extras than many fragile services.
The reliability rule
Before adding an Extra, ask yourself: can I deliver it well even in the busiest week of the year?
If the answer is yes, the Extra is ready. If the answer is "it depends", there's probably still some work to do before offering it to guests.
How StayFast helps
StayFast Boost lets you present Extras and services inside the guest experience, collect requests and orders in a more orderly way, and give the property a clearer view of what the guest asked for.
If online payment is configured, the order can be handled in an orderly way; otherwise, the request stays tracked for the property, ready to be confirmed at the right moment.
StayFast doesn't replace the property's work. It makes it clearer and faster.
Closing
Reviews still matter, but when they're already strong they no longer tell the difference on their own.
The difference is made by the moments a guest remembers: a service offered well, a request handled without confusion, an Extra that's useful at the right moment.
