When your guest speaks another language: why auto-translated communication changes the welcome
With StayFast Concierge AI, the guest writes in their own language and the property replies in its own. Messages are translated automatically, without losing the original.

Hosting international guests is a great opportunity.
But for many properties — B&Bs, vacation rentals, small hotels, guesthouses, short stays — it can also turn into daily friction.
Not so much around booking. Not so much around payment. The problem usually shows up later.
The guest writes:
Can I arrive later tonight?
Or:
Posso fazer check-in às 22h?
Or again:
Est-ce que je peux laisser les valises avant l'arrivée ?
Simple questions. Normal. Frequent.
But if the property doesn't speak fluent English, Portuguese, French, German or Spanish, even a trivial request can become slow, uncertain, awkward.
And when communication gets heavy, the guest experience gets worse before they even arrive.
The problem isn't just "translating"
Many hosts already use external translation tools. They copy the message, open a translator, paste the reply, check it, go back to the chat, send.
It works, but it's a fragile process.
Every extra step adds friction:
- time is lost;
- replies risk arriving late;
- codes, times or addresses can be copied incorrectly;
- you keep switching between tools;
- the conversation no longer stays inside the stay context.
For a small property, this is even more obvious. The person looking after guests often does everything: welcoming, cleaning, messages, requests, extras, emergencies, late arrivals.
Translation shouldn't be extra work. It should be a natural part of the conversation.
The new logic: everyone writes in their own language
With StayFast Concierge AI translated communication, the rule becomes simple:
- the guest writes and reads in their own language;
- the property writes and reads in its own;
- StayFast is the bridge in between.
Example. A Brazilian guest writes:
Oi, posso chegar por volta das 22h?
The Italian property sees:
Ciao, posso arrivare verso le 22?
The property replies in Italian:
Sì, nessun problema. Le istruzioni per l'ingresso sono nella sezione Arrivo e accesso.
The guest sees in Portuguese:
Sim, sem problema. As instruções de entrada estão na seção Chegada e acesso.
The conversation stays smooth. The property doesn't have to switch language. The guest doesn't have to adapt. And the message stays inside the context of the stay.

The original is always available
Automatic translation is useful, but trust matters even more.
That's why StayFast always keeps the original text as well.
In the property inbox, the question may show up already translated, but with the option to open "Show original". The same applies for the guest when they receive the property's reply.
This choice matters for three reasons.
First: it avoids ambiguity. If a sentence sounds odd, the property can check what the guest actually wrote.
Second: it protects operational details. Times, prices, codes, phone numbers, addresses, links and amounts must stay clear.
Third: it makes the system more transparent. Translation helps, but never hides the original content.
Not a generic chat: communication tied to the stay
The difference between a generic translated chat and StayFast Concierge AI is the context.
The request doesn't live in an isolated message. It's linked to the property, the stay, the guest's language, the operational inbox and the relationship with the guest.
That means communication can stay tidy:
- questions before arrival;
- requests to the property;
- owner replies;
- messages from international guests;
- public conversations or those from a recognized Stay Hub;
- original and translation in the same thread.
For the guest it's simple. For the property it's manageable. For StayFast it's consistent with a clear vision: put the stay at the center, without turning the platform into a complicated system.
What happens if translation fails?
Communication with the guest must never be blocked.
That's why translation in StayFast is designed as a best-effort feature: if automatic translation isn't available, the message is still saved and shown in its original version.
No blocks. No lost messages. No "assistant unavailable" just because a translation didn't go through.
The property still sees the request. The guest still gets a reply. Translation is a help, not a fragile part of the system.
Why it's a Boost feature
Automatic translation of communication isn't just a technical detail. It's a feature that changes the perceived quality of the welcome.
For a property, it means:
- responding better to foreign guests;
- reducing mistakes and misunderstandings;
- not always depending on manual translations;
- projecting a more professional image;
- handling requests in a tidier way;
- building trust before arrival.
For the guest, it means feeling understood. And in hospitality, that counts a lot.
You don't need an international reception. You don't need to speak five languages fluently. You need a simple, clear flow that respects the way guest and property actually communicate.
The direction of StayFast
StayFast exists to help properties offer a clearer, more modern and tidier guest experience.
Not just a digital guide. Not just a QR code. Not just a list of information.
With Concierge AI and translated communication, StayFast becomes a lightweight tool to build relationship:
- the guest finds answers;
- they can write to the property;
- the property receives tidy requests;
- languages are no longer a barrier;
- the conversation stays inside the stay.
From the outside, it's a small feature. But in daily practice it can make a big difference.
Because the welcome doesn't begin when the guest opens the door. It begins when they ask the first question — and get a clear answer, in their own language.
